TNT Spleef

TNT Spleef Opener

Hey guys, today’s blog is about the Minecraft mini-game TNT Spleef, aka TNT Bow Spleef. TNT Spleef has the same concept as normal Spleef. Instead of snow as the floor like normal Spleef, the floor is made out of TNT. Also, instead of a shovel, when starting out TNT Spleef you begin with a stack of arrows and a bow with Flame I and Infinity I enchantments. These enchantments give the bow the power to light things on fire and never run out of arrows. The objective of the game is to shoot the TNT out from underneath all of the other players with your bow. Since your bow has Flame I, when you shoot the TNT, it falls and explodes. This makes the players, if they are standing on the block, fall too. After you fall, you immediately die. So, just like normal Spleef, if you are good at parkour (jumping from one object to another), then you will probably be good at TNT Spleef. On some servers, players can reset the floor themselves so that all of the blocks come back, but on others, the server  automatically resets the floor after a set time. TNT Spleef is a very competitive game. You always need to be watching your back because you never know when someone is right behind you. It is also a very popular mini-game, so if you go on a popular server, chances are that TNT Spleef will be on the server. You should definitely try this mini-game.

Tips & Tricks #3

Hello Minecraftians! This blog is about some tips and tricks you might not have known.

Tip #1 – Bring a Chest

Always bring a chest whenever you go mining. Your inventory might get full with items that you don’t want to throw away.  A chest stores extra items you do not want to keep in your inventory but might want later.

Don’t be this guy with no chest:

Tip #2 – Moat

Build a moat around your house/fort to stop monsters. Never fill the moat with water because monsters will just swim across it. Your best choice is to fill it with lava as long as your house is not made out of wood.

Tip #3 – Bring a Door Underwater

Bring a door whenever you are trying to get sand, clay, or gravel underwater because the door allows an air space next to it since it doesn’t take up an entire block. That means you can go next to the door and get air so that you do not drown while you are gathering resources.

Tip #4 – Bunk Beds

If you don’t have enough room for two beds, and you and your friend are living together, make bunk beds. To make bunk beds, place two blocks down and then place the bed on top of the blocks. This will be the top bed. Then destroy the two blocks and put a bed where the blocks were. This is the bottom bed.

The History of Minecraft

This blog posting is about the history of Minecraft.

Markus Persson, or Notch, quit his job and first started designing Minecraft in July, 2009. Markus’ idea of Minecraft was puny compared to the vast game you play today. When he first started designing Minecraft, he called it the “Cave Game.” The game was about breaking and placing 3D blocks. After he was done designing the main part of the game, the next step was to add multi-player mode. Next was the survival mode meant to make the game feel dangerous. In July 2010, the official Team Fortress Two blog mentioned Minecraft and a PC Gamer interview made the game more popular. Later in 2010, Markus started work on a Halloween update. It got released that year on October 30th and added a few new blocks, pumpkins, fish, working clocks, and the ability to make a portal to go to the Nether. Not long after the Halloween update, all kinds of awards came rolling in. The game got the Indie Game of the Year from IndieDB and numerous awards from GDC. In February 2011, beds got introduced into Minecraft so that players could skip the dangerous night when monsters are out and about. In June 2011, the Adventure Update came. It included Enderman and a hunger meter. Minecraft was also available for download for Android devices in October. In December, Minecraft was available for IOS devices. Minecraft had gone mobile. Minecraft was officially released in November 2011 at the MineCon 2011. In that same month, Jens Bergensten, or Jeb, took over creative control of Minecraft. In May 2012, Minecraft was released for the XBox 360. It broke records by selling four million copies in five months! Minecraft is still getting updated all the time, and each update makes it better and better. Currently, Microsoft is buying Minecraft for 2.5 billion dollars. The bad thing about that is Notch will stop working with Mojang, which is really sad. The Minecraft we know today might be totally different in year or even a couple months after Microsoft buys the game.

Here are some statistics:

-About 30 people buy Minecraft on the PC/Mac a minute. That is a staggering 43,200 people a day!
-Around 5 people buy minecraft on all consoles a second. That is 423,000 people a day!
-In February 2014, Mincraft hit 100,000,000 sells.
-Minecraft makes $300,000 a day from sales.
-11,000 skins are downloaded a second.

The reason why so many people like Minecraft is that they can set their own achievements and create anything they want. Here are some awesome builds that people set their achievement bar high.

Bridges Opener (

Hello fellow Minecraftians! Today’s blog is about the Minecraft mini-game Bridges, also known as Bridges PVP (Player vs. Player). It is a lot like the mini-game Walls. There are four teams, and the object of the game is to kill the other teams and have a least one player left on your team alive. The last team with at least one player alive wins. At the beginning of the game, you start out on a big island with the rest of your team. Each team has its own island. You’ve got about 15 minutes to mine, craft, and build anything you want. After the 15 minutes are up, it is an all out battle against the other teams. On some servers after the 15 minutes are up, bridges fall out of the sky and connect the islands together, but on others, players have to build their own bridges. You need these bridges to get to the other teams and defeat them. Once you get to their island, you can steal anything you want. If you fall off the edge of your island or bridge, then you fall into the void, which kills you. Bridges is a fun game to play with friends (mostly when they are on your team… but unfortunately, the server randomly chooses your teammates).

Tips & Tricks #2

Hey guys, today I am going to give you some more tips and tricks.

Tip #1 – Snowballs for Killing Blazes

Snowballs will hurt blazes. However, if you try to hurt a person with a snowball, it doesn’t hurt him, but it deals knockback. Snowballs are the best weapon against blazes if you don’t have a bow and arrow.

Tip #2 – Wooden Slabs DO NOT Burn

If you want your house to look like it is made out of wooden planks, but your house is near lava or your friend likes to light things on fire, just make it out of wooden slabs. Wooden slabs do not burn no matter what and look the same as wooden planks.

Wooden Slabs Don't Burn (

Tip #3 – Burning Saplings

Most people throw away their extra saplings. They are throwing away free fuel for a furnace! Yep, you heard me. One sapling will only cook half of an item, but if you have a stack of saplings, that would smelt half of a stack of anything.

Smelting with Saplings

Tip #4 – Never Try to Blow Up Bedrock

Have you ever tried to blow up bedrock, and it didn’t work? The reason why it didn’t work is because bedrock is indestructible. So, stop wasting your TNT. If you see something that looks like this, don’t try to blow it up.

Super Smash Mobs

Super Smash Mobs Opener(

Super Smash Mobs is a mini-game from the server MinePlex. It is sort of like Hunger Games. Each person gets a kit with designated special abilities. Here are a couple kits: skeleton (bow, ax, and unlimited arrows), slime, spider, and iron golem. My favorite kit is the skeleton. The skeleton is good at long range, but if you use the kit right, it can be good at melee fighting. You can get other kits by buying them with gems (or mineplex money). Here are some of the kits that you can buy: enderman, creeper, wolf, witch, etc. During a battle, each player looks like the type of kit he is. For instance, someone who had the spider kit would look like a spider. The point of the game is to kill everybody else, whether it’s knocking the player into the void or dealing enough damage to kill them. A Super Smash Mobs map is made up of four or five little islands and then one big island in the middle. The islands are easily within jumping range.  The maps are pretty small because there are only four or five players in each battle. This is a very fun and addictive game.

Basic Tips

Hey guys, today’s blog will be about some basic tips and tricks.

Tip #1 – Easier Sand (or gravel) Farming

To farm sand or gravel really quickly, make a tower of one of the two resources and place a torch underneath the bottom block. All of the blocks will fall on the torch and break.

Sand Farming with Torch

Tip #2 – Peaceful Mode

If you don’t have a house or are starving to death, you can just change the game to peaceful mode. In peaceful mode, you don’t need to eat food and you automatically re-heal. Also, no monsters will spawn at night.

Peaceful Mode(

Tip #3 – Wood Cutting

Can’t reach that last log at the top of the tree? When you start cutting down the tree, don’t cut the bottom block. This way, if there is a block that you cannot reach, you can jump onto the bottom block.

Cutting Wood(

Tip #4 – Farms

Whenever you build a farm of some sort, always put fences or cobblestone walls around it. Mobs will fall on the plants, which breaks them, and you have to replant it (unless the plant is a fully grown pumpkin or melon).

The Walls( 1

Hey guys, today’s topic is about the Minecraft mini-game Walls. Now, from looking at the name, you are probably thinking it is a lame game. Well, you are wrong (in my oppinion). This is pretty much team Hunger Games. There are four teams with sand walls separating each team from one another. Sometimes there are one or two chests, but usually no more than that. The amount of players in a game can vary from 20 to 100. Each team starts in a corner of the arena, and when the game starts, the players have around 15 minutes to mine, craft, enchant, and build to prepare for the arising battle. After the 15 minutes, the sand walls fall, and it turns in to an all out battle. If you die, you cannot fight anymore, but you can fly around and watch the battle. The last team  with at least one player alive wins. If you play Walls, your best bet of winning would be to build a skybase and let the enemies come to you.

Your arena might look like this:

Spleef (Youtube)

Today I will be talking about the Minecraft mini-game Spleef! In Spleef you and a few other players are in a snow–floored arena. Each person gets to start out with a diamond shovel. With the diamond shovel, you and all of the other players have to break the snow underneath one another. Once a lot of the floor is gone, you have to jump around and be careful not to fall. Usually, underneath the snow floor, there is a pit of lava. This gives the players an extra incentive to win because they will die if they fall. On some servers, there are multiple levels. So, if you fall off the first level, then you land on the next and keep playing until you fall off every single level. If you are the last person alive, then you win the game! Chances are, if you are good at parkour, then you will be good at Spleef. Spleef is a fun and popular game!

#1 Rule of Mining

NEVER MINE STRAIGHT DOWN! AND, NEVER MINE UP WITHOUT BEING PREPARED! If you mine straight down, you could fall into lava, fall into a monster-filled cave, or take fall damage. When mining down, stand on two blocks at a time, so that when you break one, you don’t fall. This way, one block is always there to catch you. If you mine straight up, there are chances of lava flowing onto you, water drowning you, or exposing yourself to the outside world where monsters are waiting to kill you. When mining up, always be ready to place a block in the way of lava or monsters. I have had very bad experiences with mining down. I have had diamonds, gold, iron, and redstone in my inventory and have fallen into a pit of lava or a cave full of monsters causing me to lose all of my items. I have also had bad experiences when mining up. I have had lava fall on top of me, which immediately killed me. I have also had mean players drop on top of me, kill me, and then take all of my stuff. In other words, just don’t mine up or down without being prepared!

Don’t be this guy!
